Who Is Neighbor Darryl on ‘Life in Pieces’?

In the Life in Pieces episode “Pestilence War Famine Death,” while Greg (Colin Hanks) and Jen (Zoe Lister-Jones) invite their exterminator Oscar (Martin Starr) over for dinner, John (James Brolin) and Joan (Dianne Wiest) get into a heated conversation with their neighbors, literally. There’s a dispute over where exactly the property line lies – and across the line sits the Shorts’ hot tub.

Neighbor Darryl is portrayed by comedian/actor J.B. Smoove. He’s best known for his TV roles on Curb Your Enthusiasm (Leon Black), Everybody Hates Chris (Manny), ‘Til Death (Kenny Westchester), The Millers (Ray), and (as himself) on Real Husbands of Hollywood. Smoove is also recognized for his roles in the films Mr. Deeds (Reuben), We Bought a Zoo (Mr. Stevens), and Top Five (Silk), among others. Life in Pieces airs Thursdays at 8:30pm on CBS.
