DURA Tent inventor Dan Rothweil pitched his tent product on Shark Tank in 2009. DURA Tent is a screened tent designed to protect food at picnics, tailgate parties and campfires from ants, flies, bees, and other unwanted insects. The table top tent folds up so it’s easy for travel. Rothweil had sold 50,000 units before appearing on Shark Tank, but he got tripped up in his numbers when grilled by Lori Greiner, which was a bummer because he wanted to sell DURA Tent on QVC.

Rothweil didn’t get a deal with any of the Sharks but he did take Greiner’s advice about changing the name of DURA Tent. The product is now called Picnic Pal and is available for $19.95 on the company website and on Amazon (see link above). Each PicnicPal is 36″L x 22″D x 25″H.
