Tristan McIntosh is one of the 13 young women who have made it to the Top 24 on the fifteenth and final season of American Idol. Tristan’s the 15-year-old singer from Nashville who was surprised at her audition when her mother — who’s a Major in the US Army stationed in the Middle East — showed up. It was an emotional reunion that brought JLo and Keith Urban to tears. McIntosh says while she’s experienced euphoria on the show, she also admits to being really tired, worried, and anxious. It’s a lot of pressure for a 15-year-old — but now she has an even bigger support group.
Since her audition, Tristan says her social media following has gone from 800 to 8,000. (That’s a 900% rise.) Her mother Amy laughed and added, “My Facebook page is filled with ‘my cousin this’ and ‘my cousin that’. We have a lot of cousins now. But this has just been amazing.” American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
