The mercurial season of Jeremy Lin continues. Working his way out of a shooting slump, Lin again shot a high percentage against the Hawks in Atlanta. Lin went 4-of-7 from the field and got to the line (as is his custom) seven times, making six attempts. The problem: the other Hornets had a terrible time trying to score. Credit the Hawks unrelenting defense, but Kemba Walker was just 3-of-15, Al Jefferson 2-of-11, and Nicolas Batum 1-of-6. Atlanta basically put a lid on the basket.
The Hawks held the Hornets to 33.3 percent shooting in an 87-76 win in which Charlotte trailed throughout. The Hornets are 30-28 and the Hawks 33-27, much closer than was expected when the season began. No one early would have called this date on the schedule a “must win” for Atlanta, but the Hawks came out that way. Lin played just 21 minutes and committed only one turnover, but struggled some on defense, committing four fouls.
