Kemba Walker returned to the Charlotte Hornets lineup and resumed the starting point guard spot from Jeremy Lin. The Hornets lost to the Miami Heat 98-95. The Heat’s Hassan Whiteside had a monster game for Miami, with a triple double that included blocking ten shots. Lin played only 16 minutes for Charlotte, after leading the team in scoring in the previous game, a victory over the Eastern Conference leading Cavaliers.
Even in his 16 minutes of time, Lin led the Hornets in free throw attempts, shooting 4-of-5 from the line. Walker got to the line only twice in 36 minutes. The lack of penetration and the inability of Charlotte to draw fouls, Lin’s expertise, allowed Whiteside to remain in the game. He committed only four fouls. Lin shot 8-of-11 from the line in the Cleveland victory, causing foul trouble for the Cavaliers. Logging 32 minutes, Lin was on the floor twice as long against Cleveland.
