In The X-Files episode “Founder’s Mutation,” FBI agents Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are called in to investigate a scientist’s brutal suicide. He’s found with a knife stuck in his head. During their investigation, they discover a laboratory “where extreme genetic experimentation has bred subjects possessing dangerous powers.” One of the doctors on hand is Augustus Goldman.

Augustus Goldman is portrayed by Doug Savant. He is best known for his roles on Desperate Housewives (Tom Scavo), 24 (Craig Phillips), Melrose Place (Matt Fielding), and Knots Landing (Young Mack Mackenzie). Savant is also recognized for his roles in the films Godzilla (Sgt. O’Neal) and Teen Wolf (Brad) starring Michael J. Fox. Fun fact about Savant: he is married to his Melrose Place co-star Laura Leighton (Jane’s sister Sydney). The X-Files airs Mondays at 8pm on FOX.
