Jennifer Lopez opened her Las Vegas residency with a page out of the Taylor Swift handbook. Guest stars have long been a part of show biz, but Swift elevated it an art form during her “1989” World Tour. She’s made the guest gig a who’s who of pop culture and you’re guaranteed so see luminaries — Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Mick Jagger, The Band Perry, Avril Lavigne, Wiz Khalifa, Selena Gomez, Ciara, Fifth Harmony, to name a few — perform with Swift at her shows. Oh yeah and JLo. Lopez sang her hit “Jenny from the Block” with Swift at a Staples Center show.
In Vegas, to open up her stand, Lopez dug deep for the guest star firepower. She not only brought out Ja Rule — her duet partner in the giant hit “I’m Real” back in the day — but Pitbull and Ne-Yo also joined the sultry singer on stage. Lopez is pop royalty — and the guest stars for these JLo Vegas shows are expected to be as big as the names Taylor Swift brings in. Besides, it’s hardly a hassle to come to Vegas.
