Matt Reed of Portland, Oregon is the entrepreneur behind of Bee Thinking, a company that sells handmade, top bar, cedar beehives and accessories for the modern beehiver. Reed pitched his business on Shark Tank during Season 6 but he left without a deal. However, Reed’s presentation did make an impact. As Daymond John explained on Facebook, “Bee Thinking from Shark Tank made me realize that the honey bees are endangered. Saving our planet is one of my main objectives.”

On Shark Tank, John said Reed’s valuation was too high for him to invest. But: “It doesn’t mean that the company’s value to our planet isn’t still amazing! I fell in love with their effort and cause.” That’s why John invited Reed to his upstate New York property where John is now keeping hives. Their meeting will be featured on Beyond the Tank which airs Tuesdays at 10pm on ABC, after Shark Tank.
