Bronx rapper Remy Ma will star in Season 6 of Love & Hip Hop. It’s been a year since Remy Ma was released from jail. She spent six years in prison after shooting a woman in the stomach. (The woman, Makeeda Barnes-Joseph survived.) While incarcerated, Remy Ma married Brooklyn rapper Papoose via a three-way phone call. Papoose, who’s working on his music career too, will also be on Love & Hip Hop Season 6.
[Who Is DJ Self on ‘Love & Hip Hop’?]
Papoose (born Shamele Mackie) signed a $1.5 million contract with Jive Records in 2006 with DJ Kayslay but his debut studio album, Nacirema Dream, got shelved so he went on his own and released a number of free mixtapes. With Fontana Distribution, he released his debut album on his own in 2013. Remy Ma is featured on the single “What’s My Name.” P.S. Nacirema is American spelled backwards. Papoose released his second album, You Can’t Stop Destiny, in 2015. Love & Hip Hop airs Mondays at 8pm and 10pm onVH1.
