On the Criminal Minds episode “Target Rich”, the BAU helps Special Agent David Rossi’s (Joe Mantegna) journalist daughter Joy Struthers investigate the disappearance of a college student. This isn’t the first time Joy has appeared on the show. In Season 10, it was revealed that Joy’s mother is French diplomat Hayden Montgomery (Paulette Ivory), Rossi’s second ex-wife. Rossi didn’t know Montgomery was pregnant when they divorced. Joy was raised by her stepfather whom she believed was her biological father. Joy found out the truth when her stepfather was diagnosed with terminal cancer and he confessed the truth to Joy.
Joy Struthers is portrayed by Amber Stevens West. She’s appeared on several TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother
