On the Madam Secretary episode “Catch and Release,” a U.S. aid worker in Syria is killed by “the first known American ISIS leader.” As Secretary of State, Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) responds to the death by recalling all American aid workers in Syria, including her indigent doctor brother, Will Adams.
Elizabeth’s brother Will Adams is portrayed by Eric Stoltz, actor turned director of Madam Secretary. As an actor Stoltz is best known for his roles in the films Some Kind of Wonderful (Keith), Mask (Cher’s son Rocky), Pulp Fiction (Lance), and Fast Times at Ridgemont High (Stoner Bud), among others.
