Joey Gibbons is the boss on Bravo’s new reality TV show Apres Ski. The show focuses on his startup business, Gibbons Life, a concierge business that caters to the rich and famous clientele who vacation in the ski resort town of Whistler in British Columbia. Gibbons is also the CEO of the hospitality company Gibbons Whistler, which runs five popular pubs and restaurants in the posh ski resort town its named for. His father started the business in 1979 and Joey has expanded the business since 2004 to a point where he’s been compared to Martha Stewart who “sells a lifestyle, not just cookbooks and decorative pillows.” Gibbons Whistler also runs beer festivals and brews Gibbons Lager.
[Who Is Elise Wims on Bravo’s ‘Apres Ski’?]
Before getting married and having four kids, Joey competed on the Canadian national Alpine Ski Team, graduated from Bishop’s University (in business and economics). While the idea of the TV show Apres Ski might sound like one giant series of commercials to promote tourism in Whistler, there is plenty of drama to remind viewers that it’s a reality TV show. Apres Ski airs Mondays at 10pm on Bravo.
