Thor “The Mountain” from Game of Thrones is the real thing when it comes to strength (which you knew by looking at him). He’s also probably the most appropriately named character on TV. Hafthor Bjornsson was impressive in setting a world record for the keg toss, firing a 33-pound beer keg 24-and-half feet into the air at Giants Live Sweden. But that might not even have been the most astounding thing for The Mountain.
Anybody watching the video (below) will be equally amazed by Bjornsson’s vertical leap in celebration. We’re talking about LeBron James-like vertical hops in a body that looks like it might not be able to leap over a copy of The Guinness Book of World Records — which he’s now in, of course. But Thor’s so nimble it takes your breath away. Bjornsson has won Europe’s Strongest Man competition two years running. He finished second last year in the World’s Strongest Man and third in 2015. He’s clearly the strongest man in Iceland though — has been for five straight years. Bjornsson stands 6’9″ and weighs 396 pounds.
