Temple University in Philadelphia cut ties recently with its most famous alum, but Temple is moving on fast and furious from that sad debacle. Ask any major college president the best way to get a school’s name out there in a positive light, and you’ll hear one word: football. Even if you have scientists, novelists, Nobel Prize winners and astronauts among your alumni, football dominates the national consciousness. Ask Notre Dame.
The Temple Owls football team is 7-0 for the first time in its history, and they’re a top 25 team for the first time since Led Zeppelin was together and Jimmy Carter was president. Oh and speaking of Notre Dame — the Fighting Irish hurdle is next for the surging Owls, who host ND at The Linc in Philly on Halloween. Notre Dame is 6-1 a 24-22 loss to Clemson the only blemish. They have a bye week before the Temple Halloween game. They’re ranked 11th in the country, ahead of Temple. Temple will try to spook them
We’ve waited a long time to say this. Up next: Notre Dame. Halloween. The Linc.
