Myles Sachs is the eldest child of Andra and Brad Sachs, self-made millionaires in Orange County. While he was studying at Washington State University, his parents were shot dead in their California mansion by their second eldest child, Ashton Sachs, who was then 19. Ashton also shot his 8-year-old brother Landon, who was left paralyzed. Ashton shot at his teenage sister Alexis, but missed. Myles, who is now 23, is the legal guardian of his younger siblings – Landon, now 16, and Alexis, now 18.
On top of those parental responsibilities, Myles also runs the family property management business. While the media reports that his parents’ fortune was worth up to $80 million, Myles describes the family business to OCRegister as “a small mix of commercial and residential properties, mostly in Southern California.” He says when the kids are grown – when he’s in his 30s – he hopes to work for Amazon or Google. When asked about the family business, he says, “By then, I’ll let the next generation deal with it.” 48 Hours will air its interviews with Andra Sachs’ sister and business partner in a special episode, “Shadow of Death,” on October 10 at 10pm on CBS.
