Rapper Joe Budden had to leave while filming of the reality TV show Couples Therapy to appear in a New York court regarding domestic violence and robbery charges. Budden allegedly got physical with an ex-girlfriend and stole her phone. Budden’s departure from the set meant that his partner Kaylin Garcia had to leave too. It is Couples Therapy after all. But according to Budden, he and Garcia are no longer a couple.

Budden made it clear during an interview on the radio show Sway in the Morning, that they’re just friends. Budden explained, “I try to remain amicable with all the woman I have dealt with,” he said, “I try to. You know, you fail sometimes.” The radio hosts didn’t touch that one. They let Budden talk about Kaylin whom he described as “a young, sweet innocent girl.” Budden said “she needed help” dealing with the stuff they went through. “Women need that closure shit, and they need to get it with the other person.” Budden says he has closure with all of the woman he’s been with, “I’m good,” he claimed. Couples Therapy airs Wednesdays at 10pm on VH1.
