NFL Football is a brutal game and quarterbacks are under constant assault. That’s why left tackles sometimes get paid $66 million. To protect the blind side (The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game), as it’s called, but still the quarterbacks are prey for attackers and the injuries mount. 2015 has already seen quarterbacks missing major time. Here’s just a partial list of who’s gone down in 2015.
- Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger
- Saints quarterback Drew Brees
- Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo
- Bears quarterback Jay Cutler
- Browns quarterback Josh McCown
You might add Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III to that list — RGIII was still presumably the Washington starter when he got knocked around and out during some controversial preseason play. Even without RGIII, that’s more than 15% of the league’s starting quarterbacks.
