A flyweight spectacular is set for Saturday September 5, with Demetrious Johnson defending his title against a truly fierce and talented fighter, John “The Magician” Dodson. Both stand 5’3″ and weigh 125 pounds with 66-inch reaches. The tale of the tape is practically the same in every category, though the magician, at age 30, has had a few more years to learn his tricks. He’ll need them all against Johnson, the “Mighty Mouse” who punches with a 53% accuracy. (Dodson is at just 35.4%.)
Both are great defenders, but Dodson has great knockout power. 50% of his fights have ended by KO/TKO. Grappling gives an edge to Johnson. When they faced off the last (and only) time back in January of 2013 Dodson lost a tough but unanimous decision. The rematch takes place in Las Vegas on Saturday September 5 on Pay-Per-View.
