MTV is premiering a new reality show Todrick, starring “quadruple-threat” Todrick Hall. He made his TV debut when he auditioned for the ninth season of American Idol. (He made it to the semi-finals.) The 30-year-old entertainer has developed a huge following on YouTube (more than 1.6 million subscribers) where he likes to make parodies about pop singers including Ariana Grande and Beyonce.
Todrick’s video satire of Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines song has been seen more than 37 million times. Todrick’s friend Bart Baker plays Thicke as a creepy rapist, Hall plays T.I. “Come over here if you want to get raped/ by a creepy wannabe Timberlake” is the first line of the parody song. MTV greenlit eight half-hour episodes of Todrick which airs Mondays at 10pm on MTV.
