On the season finale of True Detective, Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn) has vengeance on his mind. Torching his own clubs so they don’t fall into the hands of his nemesis Osip Agronov wasn’t enough. Frank’s working a big elaborate plan designed to bring down Osip. “Call it what you want. Revenge, justice….” Frank tells former detective Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell). With an arsenal of weapons and a fake passport, Frank will make sure Osip’s next cash handoff doesn’t go as Osip plans.
[Why Katey Sagal Is Perfect For ‘The Bastard Executioner’]
Osip is portrayed by Timothy V. Murphy. The Irishman is best known for his bad guy roles on Sons of Anarchy (Galen), NCIS: Los Angeles (Isaak Sidorov), and Criminal Minds (Ian Doyle). Murphy is currently filming Kurt Sutter’s (Sons of Anarchy) new TV series The Bastard Executioner about a warrior knight during King Edward I’s reign. Sutter’s wife Katey Sagal is in it, too. Murphy plays a priest! The Bastard Executioner will premiere on September 15 on FX. True Detective airs Sundays at 9pm on HBO.
