Edward Burns is branching out into TV. The filmmaker/actor/writer famous for his independent films The Brothers McMullen and She’s the One has created a drama series called Public Morals. It’s set in the early 1960s in New York City, where the show is filmed. Burns stars as Terry Muldoon, a cop working in the Big Apple’s “Public Morals” Division aka vice squad. (Burns’ father was a NYPD cop in the 1960s.)
Muldoon’s partner is Charlie Bullman, “the muscle of the operation.” He’s portrayed by fellow New York native Michael Rapaport. Public Morals, which is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, will premiere on August 25 on TNT.
