King of All Media Howard Stern, who may be lined up for a billion dollar payday by the time his next radio deal is finished, has a private passion too. You might think a man who has never censored a single thought and whose book (and movie) exposed his Private Parts to the world had given up all private passions. But Stern, like Bob Dylan, George W. Bush and other people better known for other things, is also a painter. And so far his work is not for sale.
[Why AGT’s Howard Stern Is Like Mark Cuban on Shark Tank]
Stern’s wife Beth told Social Life magazine recently that Howard has been “doing watercolors and paintings lately.” Stern likes to paint flowers and especially roses apparently. His wife’s walls are covered with “Howard originals.” We know Stern painted a farewell present for his friend David Letterman — a daffodil. It may be only a matter of time before the Gagosian Gallery, which represents Dylan, puts a few Howard Sterns up on the walls, triggering a media frenzy. Stern is in an enviable position: he’s the rare artist rich enough to be an art collector, so he can afford his own work.
