After the DeAndre Jordan debacle, the Dallas Mavericks looked up and did some work. That’s what owner Mark Cuban preaches to the entrepreneurs he mentors and it’s what Mavs coach Rick Carlisle teaches his players: work with what you have, go forward, make it better. Don’t let the bumps in the road get you — there are always bumps in the road. Momentarily centerless, the Mavs quickly pulled the trigger on a trade for Milwaukee big man Zaza Pachulia.

The 6’11” Zaza (Cuban: “he only needs one name”) has the attitude and work ethic the Mavs like (read: not Jordan, not Rondo). Cuban told his followers on social media that the Mavs have been “trying to trade for Zaza and finally were able to pull the trigger.” And here’s Cuban’s highest praise and big reveal about the underestimated Pachulia: “he shoots the 15 foot pick and pop jumper at the same level as… Dirk.” (That would be Nowitzki.) The analytics lover in Cuban invited his fans to “look it up.” Get lemons (DeAndre Jordan)? Make lemonade (Zaza Pachulia.) If the Mavs have a great season with Pachulia, “Lemonade” should surely be in the running for a Zaza nickname. Zaza “Lemonade” Pachulia is tasty.
