On Extant, astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) gets a visit from an old friend, the charming General Tobias Shepherd. He’s head of the Global Security Commission. Their past will “complicate his work (and his life) in the face of a deadly new threat to humanity.” The General is an intriguing new character on the popular sci-fi show.
The General is portrayed by Englishman David Morrissey. Americans will recognize him as The Governor (the guy with the eyepatch) on The Walking Dead. His performance in that hallucinogenic scene was very memorable. Morrissey is currently working on (starring and executive producing) Showtime’s new series The Driver, an American adaptation of the BBC One miniseries. Extant airs Wednesdays at 10pm on CBS.
