A forum at MarvelHeroes.com gives the facts on Ant-Man in Gazillion’s Marvel Heroes 2015, the free PC MMO. With the movie possibly missing Marvel money targets on opening weekend, it may be that Ant-Man’s life in games will be his more lasting existence. The pre-launch FAQ generated some funny lines in the comments like, “you had me at Antnado.” (Antnado is listed as his ultimate power.) A couple of people were disappointed that Ant-Man, with the signature power “Big Foot Sighting”, had no “summon” powers. But one concisely said “cool, we had enough summoners.” These gamers are a tough-to-please crowd (rightly so), and Ant-Man disappoints many who feel he was rushed. In a long post after playing, White Kong says: “Ant Man isn’t really that fun to play. He’s clunky and frustrating. Art is good, voice acting is good, visuals are excellent. But he just doesn’t feel powerful at all.” To which PlasmaMw replies with two words: “Absolutely disagree.”

That’s sort of how reviews of the Ant-Man movie are coming down too. Love it! Or: eh, not so much. Like many free-to-play (F2P) games, Marvel Heroes 2015 offers plenty of ability to spend real money as you advance. (Costumes are a temptation.) If you want additional characters, that costs money. (Gazillion lists its prices in “G” currency — 100G is a buck.) Ant-Man is Marvel Heroes’ 49th playable character. Try it here.
