Caroline Wozniacki slammed the door shut on reporters who wanted to talk about someone other than Caroline Wozniacki at Wimbledon. The accomplished Danish star is into the third round where she’ll meet 23-year-old Italian Camila Giorgi. Just don’t ask Wozniacki about it. Someone did and Wozniacki replied bitterly, “Are we in Camila’s press conference or are we in mine? I’m starting to not know exactly.”

But Wozniacki’s lack of feigned charm and manners is actually a really good sign for Wozniacki. The World No. 5 needs to focus exclusively on herself to get to the next level. Once dubbed “Miss Sunshine,” Wozniacki could also stand to be a little mean. In the past, most evidently during her US Open Finals loss to her pal Serena Williams, Wozniacki has seemed resigned to (and almost content with) second, even promising to buy Serena drinks in NYC after the whupping. This new angry Caroline seems more likely to sulk and plot revenge, rather than hit the town. She’s far more dangerous in the new mode. Watch out, Camila.
