Jeremy Lin was seen working out with retired two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash at the Lakers practice facility. Both point guards were on the Lakers roster last season, but the get-together probably doesn’t have much to do with LA. Lin is a free agent and one of the teams rumored to be interested in his services is the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets are also talking with Nash’s old coach Mike D’Antoni about their coaching vacancy. Coincidence? Doubtful.
Nash won both his MVPs playing for D’Antoni in Phoenix, running a lightning fast offense built on penetration. D’Antoni would bring the same style to Denver. One of Lin’s strengths is penetration and getting to the basket. Nash and D’Antoni are close — is Nash sizing-up Jeremy Lin for a spot in Denver? Doing D’Antoni a favor? D’Antoni could conveniently call Nash after his Lin workout, just to see how it went. Wouldn’t be surprised if D’Antoni even arranged the workout. Hey, he wouldn’t mind using the Lakers facility for his own purposes — he’s a disgruntled ex-Laker himself.
Working at the Lakers facility & a familiar face walked in – good ‘ole Steve Nash! Said he had a workout planned w/ Jeremy Lin.
