PGA Tour golfer Jason Dufner is famous for taking everything easy. “The Duf Abides,” read one famous headline, comparing the laid back Dufner to The Dude of Big Lebowski fame. Dufner is absolutely tearing up The Memorial this week, recording back-to-back eagles on the back nine Friday to build a lead heading into the weekend. The second eagle was an ace at the 16th hole. It’s a typically cool response by Dufner to a personal bump in the road.
The sad signatures on Dufner’s divorce papers are just a few months old, and the golfer paid out a handsome sum ($2.5 million by some reports) to his ex-wife Amanda. He hasn’t won a tournament since the 2013 PGA, but he looks better now than he has in a long time. The winner this weekend will take home $1.1 million. If that winner is Dufner — and he sure looks ready — he’ll get back almost half the check he wrote in March.
