Brandon Saad, #20 on the Chicago Blackhawks, has been busy. His team is fighting for the Stanley Cup, and he’s an integral player. The series is currently tied at 2-2 after Saad’s third-period goal lifted the Blackhawks to a 2-1 win in Game 4. Saad has scored eight postseason goals. He has a gift for timeliness: seven of those eight have either tied a game or given the Blackhawks a lead.
But if part of the professional athlete’s gig in 2015 is to keep the fans involved and close to the action, then Saad is falling down on the job. The 22-year-old left wing has nearly 69,000 followers on Twitter and yet he hasn’t tweeted since February! C’mon, Brandon! Let us know what it feels like to hit the back of the net at all those critical moments. We’re only looking for 140 characters — tops! Think he’ll tweet after Game 5? Real Blackhawks fans don’t care, of course — as long as Saad keeps up the killer stickwork he can tell Chicago how he feels at the victory parade. Blackhawks face the Lightning at Tampa Bay for Game 5 on June 13 at 8pm on NBC.
Brandon Saad posted this photo on Twitter in July 2014 with the caption: “Finally made it to the Willis (Sears) Tower after two years”
