The 17-year-old rapper from Atlanta known as Silento is performing his hit song Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) on the BET Awards. But it’s not his first live performance on TV. On Friday he performed Watch Me on Good Morning America (you might have heard of it).
The song’s success lies in the lyrics, which tell listeners how to dance the Whip/Nae Nae. The viral dance video has been viewed more than 47 million times on YouTube. Silento surprisingly has less than 6,000 followers on Twitter. After the BET Awards, that number will likely soar. BET Awards air Sunday, June 28 at 8pm.
