A few friends in Seattle (Alesia Glidewell, Keri Andrews and Doug Jordan) are making superhero action figures to resemble their friends and family. And now they want to offer their specialty product to everyone. Under the banner of You Kick Ass Action Figures, they’ve started a Kickstarter campaign. They raised $46,000 and are delivering their first You Kick Ass Action Figures in June.
The process of selecting your action figure is fun. You get to pick the figure – adult/kid, male/female – and all the details down to the outfit, mask and hair. All you have to do is send a photo. The folks at You Kick Ass use 3D printing to create a face that looks like yours. Current turnaround is about two weeks. You can Kick Ass for $60. Might be fun to spend $120 and send a picture of your enemy too.
