Texas Rising is the new miniseries on The History Channel about what happened in the Lone Star State after the Alamo. The manly cast of characters includes Kit Acklin, a real life hero on horseback. Kit was the best horseman among the Texas Rangers. In Texas Rising, the handsome young man helps rescue “the pretty young Rebecca Pitt from a wagon accident, and they strike up a romance.” Sigh.
Kit is portrayed by Trevor Donovan. Donovan is best known for his roles as Austin/Alistar on Melissa & Joey, Teddy Montgomery on 90210, and Jeremy Horton on Days of Our Lives. Fun fact about Donovan: not only is he gorgeous and a talented actor but he also has a Bachelors degrees from The Art Institute of Los Angeles in Graphic Design. Texas Rising premieres on The History Channel on Monday, May 25 at 8pm.
