Emma Decody is “a quirky, pretty and intelligent seventeen-year-old girl who has cystic fibrosis” on Bates Motel. She has feelings for Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore). Like “normal” teenagers they study together, flirt and occasionally fight.
Emma is portrayed by Olivia Cooke. The 21-year-old English actress is best known for her roles in English TV mini-series Blackout and The Secret of Crickley Hall. On the American big screen you might have seen and heard her scream in the horror flick Ouija. Next up for Cooke is a drama about a teenage filmmaker who befriends a classmate with cancer, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. She plays the dying girl Rachel. Her co-stars include Connie Britton (Nashville) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation). Me and Earl and the Dying Girl will be in theatres in June 2015. Bates Motel airs Mondays at 9pm on A&E.
