Actress Raven-Symone (The Cosby Show, That’s So Raven) isn’t shy about voicing her opinion. How else do you get a job as a guest host on The View? On yesterday’s show, the ladies were discussing an organization’s campaign to get a female face on the US $20 bill. Four women were announced as finalists from an online poll. They are Wilma Mankiller, Rose Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt and Harriet Tubman.
Symone said she didn’t like the idea of Tubman on a 20. “I think we need to move a little bit forward.” Symone said she understands history and its importance but she would have preferred Rosa Parks because she’s “closer to the progression that we’re doing now.” Symone received a lot of grief via Twitter with comments like the one below from Erica Diggs, an African-American jewelry designer who jokes a lot about racial drafts — a la Dave Chappelle.
Black people don’t want Raven Symone anymore. Any other races or continents accepting currently???
