You hear about astronomical salaries of big league ballplayers. You see Tom Brady’s mansion. You see Kobe Bryant pull up to the game in his Ferrari. But you don’t usually get to see this: an actual pay stub that makes it seem even more real. On Reddit, user Grassiii posted a pic of Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen’s pay stub. He apparently found it in the Cubs locker room while the Pirates were there.
McCutchen is halfway through a 6-year contract that pays him $51.5 million, so there’s nothing really surprising about the stub. It’s a little stunning anyway. (This year McCutchen makes $10 million per. Next year, when he makes $13 million, this stub will look even better.)
