Love & Hip Hop is airing the wedding of Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Harris live on May 25 (8pm, VH1). It’s a big deal for many reasons, most notably because Mendeecees might go to jail for 8 to 10 years. In April Harris pleaded guilty to running a drug trafficking operation (cocaine and heroin). Harris is currently free on bail. He will be sentenced and/or receive a multimillion dollar fine on August 31.
When asked on-camera about when it’s okay to take off your wedding ring, Harris said: “When you sleep, when you shower, when you play basketball.” He did not mention when you go to jail. Unless Harris opted for a plain wedding band – without stones, grooves or design on it – he’ll have to leave it at home with Yandy.
