Warriors center Andrew Bogut was sitting right next to teammate (and NBA MVP) Steph Curry when he said James Harden and Steph were the “two best basketball players in the world right now.” And it’s hard to argue with him, especially given what the first two games of the Rockets-Warriors series has looked like.
But if the Warriors get past the Rockets and the Cavaliers emerge in the East, somebody’s surely going to pin up Bogut’s assessment in the Cavs locker room. For years there’s been an unwritten rule that when you mention the best basketball player(s) in the world, you mention LeBron James. Bogut, obviously stirred up with emotion, forgot the rule. Asked about what it was like to watch Harden and Curry, Bogut confessed: “Sometimes, I want to crack open a beer and get a courtside seat, because these two guys are the two best basketball players in the world.”
