“Greek Watch” is a new category of research note being issued by Credit Suisse, the European banking giant. Big banks and brokerage firms regularly issue research notes on securities, industries, or sectors whose activities can have serious financial consequences–for loss or gain. Investopedia explains that “research notes are usually meant to contain time-sensitive information that applies to the current day’s trading session or some event in the near future. ”
Because of its debt, Greece has outsize potential to damage the stability of the Eurogroup, which has made Greece an important factor in the world economy. Credit Suisse’s “Greek Watch” research note launched this week will be regularly issued.
