Real Housewives of Melbourne star Janet Roach is the mother of two sons. Jake Zogoolas, her youngest, was severely burned in a fire in 2011. He was 22 at the time. Jake was at a birthday party on the beach where someone was playing with gas around the campfire. Jake suffered burns to 70 percent of his body. He was kept in an induced coma for nearly three weeks. He stayed in the hospital for an additional three months. His wealthy family was able to build a hospital in one of their homes, where Jake stayed for nearly three years. Roach reports that Jake is feeling “a lot better” these days but continues to have treatments and operations.
Roach and her son Jake have started The Roach Foundation which offers financial aid toward the treatment of burn victims. Proceeds of Roach’s new business, a tea brand called Raw Essentials, goes toward the Foundation. Real Housewives of Melbourne airs Thursdays at 9pm on Bravo.
