Actress Sarah Chalke has a recurring role on the crime dramedy Backstrom as Amy, Backstrom’s (Rainn Wilson) ex-fiancee. Backstrom fans will be seeing less of Amy as Chalke just landed the female lead in a new Fox comedy. She’ll star opposite funnyman Rob Riggle (SNL, Funny or Die) in the family comedy pilot 48 House ‘Til Monday. Chalke will play Riggle’s wife and mother to their three children. The former TV news producer struggles with being a stay-at-home mom. SNL alum Jane Curtin will play her chain-smoking mother Louise.
Chalke is best known for her roles as Dr. Elliot Reid on Scrubs, the second Becky Conner on Roseanne, and more recently Stella on How I Met Your Mother. You can still see her in Backstrom, which airs Thursdays at 9pm on Fox…but probably not for long.
