During a murder investigation on Battle Creek, detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) turns to the last person he wants help from – his mother. Constance Agnew is a convicted counterfeiter and con artist who Russ doesn’t exactly trust. She’s in prison serving a six year sentence for selling fake iPhones to retail stores.
Russ’ mother is portrayed by Oscar nominated actress Candice Bergen (Carnal Knowledge with Jack Nicholson, Starting Over with Burt Reynolds). Will Constance become a recurring character? We hope so. It’s been a while since Bergen’s been on a TV series. Remember when she was Shirley Schmidt, partner of James Spader and William Shatner on Boston Legal? She won two Emmys for her role as Shirley. Battle Creeek airs 10pm on CBS.
