American Idol contestant Clark Beckham has made it to the Top 7. As a devout Christian, Clark credits God for his accomplishments, “God put music in me.” And he says his experience at Lee University (a Church of God school outside Chattanooga) has prepared him well for Idol. But, according to the spiritual blog Charisma News, “throughout the competition his biggest challenge in his faith has been maintaining a dedicated time to the Lord.”
During the interview, Clark acknowledged the other strong Christians on American Idol. He said: “We’re always in a spiritual battle to stay focused, doing what we’re called to do, what He wants us to do, seeking first His kingdom and righteousness.” Clark will have even less time to dedicate to the Lord as he will perform two songs this week on American Idol on April 15, 8pm on ABC.
