On Madam Secretary, Stevie (Wallis Currie-Wood) brings her new boyfriend, Arthur, home to meet her parents (Téa Leoni and Tim Daly). They’ve been dating for just one month and the parents don’t approve–immediately. He’s twice Stevie’s age (39); he’s also her boss. In an attempt to reassure Stevie’s parents that he means no harm, Arthur reveals his past. After graduating from Wharton he worked for Goldman Sachs for 14 years. He was married, had a daughter, who is now 8-years-old. When he realized he was the one percent – living on the West Side of Manhattan with a house in the Hamptons – he pitched a tent, and discovered his true passion – microloans.
Arthur is portrayed by 45-year-old actor Josh Hamilton. He’s best known for his roles as Joe Miller on the TV mini-series Gracepoint, Hank Foxx on American Horror Story, and Dr. Thomas on Third Watch. His voice is most recognizable from the animated movie Ice Age (Dodo/Aardvark). Madam Secretary airs Sundays at 8pm on CBS.
