Eve and Tom Carlin are the parents of a young woman who was raped and left for dead during a brutal home invasion in the pilot of American Crime. The young woman’s husband, a war veteran, was murdered. The plot follows the investigation that’s launched in Modesto, California, a real town that struggles with racial tensions and crystal meth.
Eve Carlin is portrayed by Penelope Ann Miller. She most recently starred in the Oscar-winning film The Artist. Miller has a long, impressive resume in Hollywood. She was in Carlito’s Way with Al Pacino and Sean Penn. She was in The Freshman with Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick; Awakenings with Robert De Niro and Robin Williams; and she played opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Kindergarten Cop. American Crime premieres March 5, 10pm on ABC.
