Special Agent Merri Brody likes to keep her personal life personal on NCIS: New Orleans. So when her ex-fiancé James shows up at a crime scene, she’s not pleased. James, a British journalist, says he’s in town to write a story for The Picayune about the city’s architecture. He’s known for covering the front line in Fallujah so Brody finds his latest assignment dubious.
James Lathom is portrayed by British actor Luke Mably. He’s best known in the UK for his TV roles as Dr. Simon Hill on Combat Hospital and Dylan Radcliff on The Gates. Benedict Nightingale from The Times compared Lathom to “…a blend of introverted Richard Burton and tormented Marlon Brando — a performer to relish.” Mably has three movies coming out this year including a WWII film called Chosen, with Harvey Keitel.
