Andre Lyon is the eldest son of Lucious and Cookie Lyon on the hit TV drama Empire. After getting his MFA from Wharton Business School, Andre became CFO of the family business, Empire Entertainment. At Wharton, he met Rhonda who later became his wife. She’s encouraging him to manipulate the family in order to ultimately gain control of Empire. Andre’s biggest challenge is controlling his bipolar disorder. Real life singing sensation and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson is coming to Empire to help. She’s playing Michelle, a music therapist.
Andre Lyon is portrayed by actor Trai Byers. He’s best known for his TV roles in All My Children (Mookie), 90210 (Alec Martin) and for his recent role in the film Selma. Byers played real life American Civil Rights leader James Forman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and the Black Panther Party. Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
