The 1990s sitcom Coach is making a comeback. Actor Craig T Nelson will reprise his role as Coach Hayden Fox who will come out of retirement to be an assistant coach under his son at an Ivy League school in Pennsylvania. What made Coach work so well were the people around Nelson including his defensive coordinator Luther Van Dam (Jerry Van Dyke) and special teams coach, the “dumb jock” Michael “Dauber” Dybinski (Bill Fagerbakke). No word yet on if they’ll return too.
Fagerbakker has found great success in Hollywood since Coach, although you probably haven’t seen him in years. He provides the voice of Patrick Star in every aspect of the SpongeBob Squarepants franchise – movies, shows, video games, and several voices in Transformers: Animated and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. He also had an on-camera role on How I Met Your Mother (he played Marshall’s dad, Marvin Eriksen Sr.). You can hear Fagerbakker in the recently released The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.
