Which is more bizarre, the idea of Mr. T hosting a home improvement show, or the fact that the show will be named I Pity The Tool? Variety is reporting that DIY Network will air the show’s pilot this year, with the series scheduled for 2016, and it looks to fit comfortably into the Home Improvement sub-genre of Hammers & Heart. “The pilot will show Mr. T helping out an old associate, a man whom Mr. T visited when the guy was a teenager and had broken his neck while playing in the snow (the man is back on his feet again, with a large family). Future episodes, slated for 2016, are expected to also show Mr. T lending a hand to people who need it, like military veterans or people going through hard times.” Mr. T will be assisted by interior designer Tiffany Brooks.
“I am tough, but deep inside my toughness, I like to let people know I’m an old-fashioned mama’s boy. I have a heart of gold, but I’m really a marshmallow in my heart,” said the man who caused a frail old man’s fatal heart attack. This is not the first time Mr. T has ever wielded a sledgehammer. Before his breakout role as The A Team‘s B.A. Baracus, he worked in demolition.
