Celebrities have a lot invested in their names. On social media, reach and name recognition are equivalent of cash. If you have both, you can pretty much print money by promoting things to your followers. (Kim Kardashian’s name, for instance, packs a marketing wallop.) All of which makes it unusual–and cool–that Kaley Cuoco (or Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), among the highest paid actresses on television, doesn’t even use her powerful, instantly recognizable name on social media. A perennial candidate for “America’s Sweetheart,” The Big Bang Theory actress does have an Instragram account–and it’s normancook.
Why does Kaley Cuoco prefer the alias? Maybe just because she’s cute and it’s cute–so it fits. What does Norman Cook mean? Well, she apparently chose the name the way lots of people do. Norman is her dog’s name. Cuoco means Cook in Italian. Ta-da! Either that or she’s got a serious thing for 51-year-old DJ Fatboy Slim, whose IRL name is Norman Quentin Cook.
