In Emily Brontë’s classic novel Wuthering Heights, Ellen “Nelly” Dean the housekeeper narrates the story. Nelly is the protagonist Catherine’s servant, so she sees all. Nelly’s more than just a servant though, she’s a friend–which is key. Lifetime is retelling this iconic story of jealousy and revenge and setting it in a modern day high school in Malibu, California of all places. Ellen is portrayed by Francesca Eastwood.
The 21-year-old Eastwood is best known as Clint Eastwood’s daughter. She played herself in the reality TV show Mrs. Eastwood & Company – which featured her stepmother, Dina. (Dina and Clint recently divorced.) Francesca is busy working on her non-reality TV acting resume, too. In addition to having small roles in her father’s films – Jersey Boys and True Crime – Francesca had a recurring role as Olivia on the TV series Oh, You Pretty Things! and she’s working on the forthcoming action/thriller film Final Girl with Abigail Breslin and West Bentley.
